As a new school, students who attend WBMS for all three years will have priority of any San Francisco public high school, excluding Lowell High School and Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. ![]() WBMS has an Athletic Department with teams for baseball, softball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball, and girl's and boy's track. If they ask me why they are learning this, I can honestly say that it is something that they need to know and will use when they get older. I feel that by using a program like this I am at the very least helping my students become familiar with the keyboard and where all the keys are placed, as well as laying the foundation of typing and word processing. I just encourage my students to keep their fingers on home row as best they can and correct or help them as I walk by. While the students are practicing their typing, along with the letters and words they are typing, there is a keyboard that is on the screen, which shows what letter the child should type by blinking. ![]() I like that it takes some time for my students to complete the program because they are practicing their typing over a longer period of time, and ideally retaining the skills they learned from it for a longer period of time as well. First, it takes my students at least a month to complete the program.
